 Be the guest of a spectacular decor and a massive sound system that maintain the legacy of one of the Southwest's most historic night spots. Blu, El Paso’s newest VIP Bar & Venue, is a 16,000-square-foot building that was founded on August 1, 1914 at 209 South El Paso Street as a theater for vaudeville specialties and motion pictures and created with excellent acoustics. Created by the architect Henry C. Trost with a Spanish Moorish design, Blu’s façade is covered with a delicate tracery of arabesques, executed in plaster, which leads to an atmosphere of history and legacy of the best musical plays of those years.
Supported by a Floodlight sound system, the facility was built at the turn of last century as a theatre and now is equipped with six TFL-760Ht Floodlight enclosures hanging two stereo clusters above the main dance floor, reinforced by two TCS-40 delay units under the massive balcony, another pair of TCS-56 side fill units for the balcony, and eight TSW-721 subwoofer enclosures on the floor. The entire system is controlled via three LMS-D6 digital controllers.
 Sound system design and installation specialists Sound Investments created the BLU system. According to Keith Mahar, owner of Blu, there is nothing like Blu's Turbosound installation in El Paso. Based on the responses and what we felt would work in BLU’s stunning space, it was clear the solution was Turbosound. In addition to the main dance floor, Blu also has a VIP suite, where the sound is reinforced by a pair of TCS-56 enclosures. The main sound system is also configured as a live sound PA, accommodating live performances to make Blu a truly multimedia entertainment experience. The stage is equipped with six TFM-212 stage monitors, under which the TSW-721 subs are fitted. This installation is an example of how one company, Turbosound, can provide a complete solution for a soundsystem that both provides great sound and gives a club a truly competitive edge.
Blu, a venue with a capacity of 1,650 people, the latest lighting technology -the best in town- and an excellent quality sound system, has a stage of ___ by ___ square feet, with the accessibility to connect the plug-in cables of every electrical device. Blu has a private back entrance, a makeup and dressing room, private bathroom and kitchen, guest lounge, and comfortable couches.
